Ticket & Access Perks

Lounge access, premium entrances, and which tickets unlock extras.

  • Club seats include a full buffet-style spread - don't eat dinner outside beforehand. Doors open 90 minutes early for club level, and the food and drinks are genuinely solid. Bring a ziplock bag for the fresh-baked cookies in the lounge.
  • Beer and wine flow freely in the club; seating is also wider than standard sections. The club-level bathroom situation is limited (plan accordingly), but the overall experience is well above the league average for the price.
  • Upper bowl sections 205–218 (200-level side upper) are the best budget seats; Golden 1 Center opened in 2016 and features excellent sightlines throughout due to its modern bowl design.

Entry & Logistics

Fastest gates, bag policy, and when to arrive.

  • The main entrance is on K Street (south side, Downtown Commons). Gate A (south, K Street) is the primary entrance; Gate D (west, 5th Street) is faster for sections 101–112 and recommended for fans arriving from Capitol Mall.
  • Bag policy: clear bags maximum 12"×6"×12"; small non-clear clutch purses up to 4.5"×6.5" permitted. Golden 1 Center is the first indoor arena in the world to run entirely on 100% renewable energy.
  • Arrive 40 minutes before tip; the DoCo (Downtown Commons) development directly adjacent opens 2 hours before games with bars and restaurants that fill quickly on sellout nights.

Parking & Transit

Where to park, transit options, and postgame exit tips.

  • Old Sacramento parking garage is a reliable and affordable option - preorder online to save money. A consistent fan recommendation for avoiding the premium lots around the arena.
  • City Hall Garage at 10th and J Street has some of the cheaper game-night rates in the area - a well-known local tip for avoiding arena-adjacent pricing. Short walk to Gate A.
  • If using the interstate, P Street lots offer cheaper parking with a straight shot back to I-5 after the game - preferred by fans who want the fastest post-game exit.

Insider Tips

Pro fan knowledge you won't find on the official site.

  • Golden 1 Center is the first fully solar-powered indoor arena in the world - it runs on 100% renewable energy from a dedicated agricultural solar installation in the Sacramento Valley.
  • Downtown Commons (DoCo) - the $100 million entertainment development built directly adjacent to the arena - houses restaurants, retail, a hotel, and bars that form the pre-game corridor for most Kings fans.
  • Sacramento's "farm-to-fork capital" identity is real - Ella Dining Room and Bar and Magpie Café are within a 15-minute walk and represent some of the best Northern California produce-driven cooking outside San Francisco.
