Ticket & Access Perks

Lounge access, premium entrances, and which tickets unlock extras.

  • The CapOne Club (sections 101–122, 100-level) includes access to the CapOne Club Lounge - all-inclusive food, beer, and wine in a dedicated space behind the lower bowl. This is the most accessible premium tier in the building.
  • Gallery Club seats (200-level midcourt) include a dedicated Gallery Club Lounge - food and beverage service at a noticeably lower price than the 100-level premium, with excellent elevated sightlines from midcourt.
  • Wizards games are among the most accessible in the Eastern Conference - regular season tickets are often available at below face value on secondary markets, making lower-bowl seats achievable for budget-conscious fans.

Entry & Logistics

Fastest gates, bag policy, and when to arrive.

  • The main entrance is on F Street NW (north side, between 6th and 7th Streets NW). Gate 3 on G Street NW (south side) is consistently faster than the F Street entrance and is recommended for most sections.
  • Bag policy: clear bags maximum 12"×6"×12"; small non-clear clutch purses up to 4.5"×6.5" permitted. Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro station is directly below the arena - for Metro riders, enter via the F Street NW exit and you are at Gate 1 in 60 seconds.
  • Arrive 35–40 minutes before tip; the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro connection (3 lines) makes this one of the most transit-accessible arenas in professional sports, and parking is genuinely not necessary.
🚇

Parking & Transit

Where to park, transit options, and postgame exit tips.

  • Metro Gallery Place-Chinatown (Red Line, Yellow Line, Green Line) stops directly below Capital One Arena - three lines converge here, providing connections from virtually every neighborhood in DC, Northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland.
  • If driving is unavoidable, Penn Quarter garages on 7th and 8th Streets NW are the closest at $30–$45 on game nights; parking in Rosslyn or Ballston (Virginia) and taking the Orange/Blue/Silver line to Gallery Place is significantly cheaper.
  • Rideshare surge pricing in Penn Quarter after games is significant; waiting 20–25 minutes inside the arena before requesting, or walking one block to F Street or H Street, reduces both surge cost and wait time considerably.

Insider Tips

Pro fan knowledge you won't find on the official site.

  • Penn Quarter is arguably the best restaurant neighborhood adjacent to any NBA arena in North America - José Andrés' restaurant cluster (Jaleo, Zaytinya, China Chilcano, Oyamel) is within a 2-block walk.
  • District E entertainment district is right next to the arena and typically runs food and drink specials before Wizards games - worth checking out on arrival before heading inside.
  • Washington Capitals playoff games here are notably louder than Wizards games - the building's capacity and acoustics can generate extraordinary noise for hockey, providing a useful benchmark for what the arena is capable of when fully engaged.
